Dr. Hemaidan is the Chairman for the Department of Medicine at Halifax Medical Center. He is also the Director of Gastroenterology Department for Florida Health Care Plans. His awards and recognition include FMA Distinguished Physician Certificate, “America’s Top Physicians” listing for many years, “Top 100 Doctors in America” National Leadership Award, AMA Physicians Recognition Award. Dr. Hemaidan is also serves as the Medical Director for Advanced Medical Research Center.

Dr. Suleiman attended Damascus University, completed his residency at Mercy Hospital in Chicago and a Fellowship at University of New Mexico, Albuquerque. He has served as the Chief of Gastroenterology Department for Halifax Medical Center from 2004 to 2008. In 2009 Dr. Suleiman was listed as one of America’s top 100 physicians. He is a Fellow for  the American Gastroenterology Association. He graduated from Sind Medical College and Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Center; completing his residency at University of Illinois Chicago. He has completed his Fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Tulane University in New Orleans and Jefferson University in Philadelphia. Dr. Zulfiqar is currently serving as the Chief of Gastroenterology Department for Halifax Medical Center. In 2007 he was the recipient of the Physicians Recognition Award by the American Research Council. He also received the Physicians Recognition Award in 2006 from the American Medical Association. He speaks English and Hindi/Urdu.

Beatrice Bratu, MD

Dr. Bratu specialties include Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. She is licensed in the state of Florida and has been in practice for over 20 years. She graduated from University of Medicine and Pharmacy, completed her residency at Fundeni Hospital in Bucharest-Romania and Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn New York. She speaks English and Romanian.

Amer Khatib, MD

Dr. Amer Khatib is an American Board of Internal Medicine certified gastroenterology specialist with over 25 years diverse experience.   He received his medical degree from University of Jordan Faculty of Medicine and completed his residency at Mayo Clinic Arizona and The Western Pennsylvania Hospital.  Dr. Khatib has served as head of the scientific committee and Board member of Friends of Liver Disease Patients Society and a faculty member of the International Society of Surgical Oncology.  He is a member of the American College of Physicians, American Society of Transplantation, American College of Gastroenterology, American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases.

Brian Hudes, MD

Dr. Hudes is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and received his medical degree from Tel Aviv University’s Sackler School of Medicine in Israel.  He completed his residency in internal medicine at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.  As a resident, he worked extensively with the liver transplant service which led him to pursue fellowships in Hepatology and Gastroenterology at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond.  For the last 20 years, Dr. Hudes has been providing digestive healthcare services to the metro Atlanta area.  Dr. Hudes has been recognized by Appen newspapers with the People’s Choice award for Gastroenterology and by Best Self magazine with the Best Gastroenterologist award.  Dr. Hudes is a Diplomate of the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.  He is also a member of numerous medical associations, including the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Gastroenterological Association.  Throughout his career, he has contributed to several medical and consumer publications on the topics of Gastroenterology, Hepatitis C, colonoscopy, and other health-related issues.  His is clinical interests in Hepatology include new treatments for Chronic Hepatitis C, low testosterone, and insulin resistance, as well as nutritional evaluation and treatment.

 

 

Zachary Neubert, DO FACP

Dr. Neubert is a board-certified physician specializing in gastroenterology and internal medicine. He is a new addition to Advanced Gastroenterology Practice, and brings with him the knowledge and experience of 11 years of practicing medicine in the United States Army, where he served on active duty.  He completed his internal medicine residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington, and his gastroenterology fellowship at Naval Medical Center San Diego in San Diego, California.  He served as chief of gastroenterology services at Tripler Army Medical Center.  He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and a fellow member of the American College of Physicians.  As a New Smyrna Beach native, he is very excited about being back serving his local community.
